Part 4 Keto Diet
Here are the first three posts if you want to catch up!
Let me preface things by saying that I forgot to take my measurements last night and take pictures. There’s been so much going on that I remembered in the morning, but by the end of the day, taking measurements never entered my mind.
The Good
I prefer eating less carbs in my day and I can do away with pasta, rice, bread (for the most part, fresh baked bread is a different story!). It’s easier to reach for high protein meals, and I don’t miss the day to day carbs. I feel better and satiated longer when I keep carbs to a minimum.
The Bad
There are so many things going on right now and I took Friday off. We went out to breakfast, I enjoyed a healthy scramble, but I shared an order of French toast from Tower Café in Sacramento. The French toast here is not like any other French toast I’ve ever had. It’s divine, a custardy, sweet, soft and gooey French toast. I had a donut too. And a scone.
On Saturday, I ate flawless until dinner. Unfortunately, things have been challenging with our wrecked car, school starting, my upcoming surgery and other little things that I made an executive decision that we needed a family night. So, we went out to dinner. Dinner was relatively on point, just a bit over on fat, but then we got dessert. We split it between all 5 of us, but then, they brought a dessert on the house. Berries and cream. So, yet again, sweets got the best of me.
Overall
Even with my two days slipping a bit, I still am going to try and finish out my six weeks.
I do realize that this is not a way of eating for me though because I am not willing to give up sweets forever. Managing everything in moderation is what will strive for after my six weeks.
I still plan to live a lower carb lifestyle though, but I can’t wait to incorporate fruit back into my life. I miss fruit more than bread!
